No age check,no sale.
Give a product — or a whole category — a minimum age, and a sale with it cannot take a payment until the customer’s age has been checked. The system refuses, not just the screen.
One rule, everywhere you sell
For alcohol, tobacco, vape, lottery, knives, fireworks — whatever your shelves hold that not everyone may buy.
By product or by category
Set a minimum age on one product, or on a category for everything in it and under it.
Two ways to check
Each business chooses: the cashier confirms they checked ID, or types the date of birth and the till does the sum.
Under age is refused
If the date of birth is too recent the sale stops there — at the till and in the online store.
Every way you sell
The till in the browser, the mobile app, a sale from the back office, an exchange and the online checkout all ask.
On the record
The order keeps that the check was made, how, and by whom. It never keeps the date of birth.
Enforced by the server
Getting past the screen does not get past the check: the server refuses the payment until the check is done.
Set it once, on the shelf it belongs to
Put 21 on the category and every product in it — and every product you add later — asks by itself. Nothing for the cashier to remember.
- Any minimum age: 18, 21, or whatever your rules say
- A product can carry its own age, apart from its category
- One setting decides how your tills check
- Items without a minimum age sell as they always did
The online store asks too
A cart with a restricted item asks the shopper’s date of birth at checkout, before the order can be placed — with the same minimum ages as the till.
- Under age: the order is not placed
- The date of birth is used for that order and not kept
- Carts without restricted items check out as usual
- The order shows that the check was made
DistrxPos records that an age check was made and refuses the sale without one. It does not read or verify identity documents. Which checks the law asks of you depends on what you sell and where — that stays your responsibility.

Can it check a customer’s age?
Yes. Give a product or a whole category a minimum age and a sale with it cannot be paid until the age has been checked: the cashier confirms they checked ID, or types the date of birth. The online store asks for a date of birth at checkout.
Does it scan a driving licence?
No. The cashier looks at the ID and either confirms it, or types the date of birth so the till works out the age. Nothing is read from the document.
Is the date of birth saved?
No. The order records that the check was made, which way, and by whom — never the date of birth itself.
Can different products have different ages?
Yes. Each product or category has its own minimum age, so 18 and 21 can sit in the same shop.
Does it work in the mobile app?
Yes. The app’s till asks before the payment sheet, with one tap or a date-of-birth keypad, following the same setting.
